Decaying Camellias - 2 studies
The garden at this time of year always provides art prompts, some small, some large, and some overpowering. These intice me to go out with sketch pad or iPad and do some drawings. The camellias are always early on. I turn around and the gravel path is littered with their fallen blossoms. The white ones turn a particular shade of light brown that resembles a translucent vellum with a nicotine stain. The lotus like petal structure often remains intact for long after they’ve fallen to the path.
