Polystichum Munitum (Sword Fern)

Polystichum Munitum - R Williamson; acrylic on glass in vintage window frame; © 2018; 28” wide x 27” tall

Some of my older (circa 2018) botanical paintings are finally finding an audience out at “The Lodge at Saint Edwards Park’. This piece, captioned with the latin name for Sword Fern, is one out of 4 in the second batch of paintings that are being hung in public spaces of the still recently new hotel.

Back painted on glass, within a craftsman era window frame that has been trimmed down. This is one of the few that I’ve done to date that makes use of a double pane frame. Kamela Daniels is the curator at the Lodge and operates it as her gallery space, changing out work on the bottom two floors on a quarterly basis.

Size is 28” wide x 27” tall and cost is $750.
