Meliora is soon to be a new eatery on the north end of Capital Hill in Seattle. The restaurants interior look gets some of its cues from what was once there, the English Tudor-styled Canterbury Ale House. A few pieces from that era will remain, including a suit of armour, while the rest of the space is given a major face lift, .

I’ve been asked to do a mural on both sides of a fin wall at the main entry. Given the presence of a taxidermic heads of both a wild boar and elk appearing in the speakeasy space, I chose to tie the imagery in with those creatures in their forest home (substituting a stage for the elk). Shown here are my preparatory sketches.

The venue should open in late February or early March.
