A new hive painting, without any figures this time, just a moth with the eye patches on the wings. The moth is a mash-up of various species that I’ve come across in photos. So clever of them to come up with the fake eyes. Add here they add greatly to the surreal effect.

Size is small - 18” x 24”, on a shallowly cradled birch panel. Perhaps this is a study for a larger version, but it’s too soon to tell.
