Fiddlehead Unfurling (crozier gif image)

The explosion of new growth in the garden is a constant draw every springtime. With the ongoing pandemic lockdown, I’ve had more time than usual to carry on a few plant diaries, mapping the daily growth. These fiddleheads are marvels of spiral growth with their multiple furls - the whole frond, the side pinna segments and ultimately the individual pinnules. As all my rudimentary animation files, this was done on the iPad using Animation Creator software.
