Assado Mural
I got a note this morning from someone in Tacoma, WA with nice comments regarding the mural that I painted at Asado more than 10 years ago. She loves the texture and makes a point of touching it whenever she goes there (!) OK, this is washable so, that works.
When I take on a project with this kind of visibility, large or small, I always try to create something that won’t be trendy, but integrates with the overarching interior design and that will still look good long after the typical 7-8 years life of most restaurant decor. Comments like this one, while unusual, are wonderful to receive and very validating.
As a result, I’ve changed the picture on my home page to a view from the main dining room of this intimate space for a few days. Interior design by Cindy Schmidt, at the time working for RCI.
