Both the shape and color of the Winter Cherry (physalis alkekangi) make it impossible not to want to paint them. Known by other common names, such as Chinese Lantern, the plant is a member of the nightshade family. Not a flower but a papery covering that hides the equally bright, colored fruit inside.
