Birding in Central Park … ala 2020.

This was first entitled. ‘In the Ramble: Birds of Prey’. But I soon realized that it was too obscure. I loved the specific reference to the area of Central Park where Christian Cooper was threatened by Amy Cooper, but not enough people had really registered the place name. In fact, even though I’m trying to bring together the George Floyd protests and this only slightly earlier incident, anecdotally people have already forgotten the ‘Birding While Black’ moment. Just another example of how we risk being overwhelmed by the crazy news cycle we find ourselves in.
