This image is a detail of a larger painting from several years ago. Extreme cropping has rendered it an entirely new experience. Lots of retouching on the borders has been done, so this only exists as a digital original or a print.

One aspect of the digital world that I find useful in image making is the ability to easily change scales and to select portions of something that I’m working on. Often I find that the image is made more effective with this kind of editing which allows me to trim down on excess and focus on a bolder framing.
