A shorter version of the Black Morel and without a painted caption. Similar palette to the tall version painted concurrently - raw umber, van dyke brown, white for the mushroom against a lighter, cooler background that includes some Paynes gray, and green gold. The crazy quilt honey-combed surface is what draws me to paint this guy. Compare with the taller version posted a few days ago.
